Felix Cameron is extraordinary in his lead role as Eli Bell.  His portrayal as a gritty, street-smart boy of 13, mixed with childlike charm, draws you into the story. You can’t help but feel every emotion he exhibits while suffering the consequences of living in a family on the verge of destruction.

All the actors in this film do an amazing job keeping you in suspense, wondering how everything will work out for Eli and his older brother August.

Boy Swallows Universe also tackles important social issues such as poverty, addiction, and the impact of crime on communities. Through its unflinching portrayal of these issues, the series shines a light on the struggles that many people face and the resilience that can be found in the face of adversity.

Overall, Boy Swallows Universe is a masterful TV series that has captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling, richly developed characters, and powerful themes. However, due to its graphic nature, violence, drugs, and strong language, my personal recommendation is only for older teens and adult viewing.  That being said, I feel that this film is still a must-watch for anyone who enjoys thought-provoking and emotionally gripping television.
